Apple Nachos

One thing about when you hit the age of 40, you get a little surprise around your middle, not to mention other spots, but it really seems to be in your middle.  All of a sudden things don’t fit that well there and it is where every pound you gain seems to sit. While it can be easier to camouflage than most spots where you gain weight, it is not the most pleasant.

One way to lose weight after 40 is to reduce sugar intake. Ugh!!! I love sweets, so hearing this is not good news! People suggest apples and berries as the best to eat to curb that craving, but who am I kidding? When I want chocolate, an apple or berry will not do. I discovered these apple nachos. They are nothing fabulous and super easy to make and they actually kill the craving for sweets.

I like to get green apples, but if you like the red ones, they will do also. I get the green apples and core them and cut them into slices.

Then I get sugar free caramel and hot fudge and drizzle it on top and then toss a few semi-sweet chocolate chips on top and you have a great treat. It is low sugar, which helps with that midsection. The apple also has some crunch and helps to fill you up.

I like this snack and ate it on repeat for a week during quarantine and I actually felt so good. I knew this was not a bad snack to eat and instead of watching my midsection spread, I felt it helped it go down some. I love sweets so let me know if you have any other sweet treats to share that are waistline friendly!

Later!
