Pink Dresses and Easter Candy

I love Easter!!! It not only represents such a great time for the Christian faith, but I love Easter candy most of all!!!
Style It!: I love this dress. I loved it the first time I saw it at the store. The pink is perfectly pale and the embroidery is not too much. I feel that this style of dress looks great with wedge shoes. I have some that are tan, but I wanted pink. I have been seeing the pink wedges everywhere!!! I walked into Dillard’s and saw these from Gianni Bini. Not only were they pink, but they have the cute ruffle!!! I actually saw them on another trip and went back to get them, that is how much I liked them! They are a little high, but since they are a wedge style, it is not that hard to walk in them and they are more comfortable than the more traditional high heel shoes. There are so many cute styles of the wedges this year and I love them not only with dresses, but they are super cute with jeans and shorts. They just seem to the be the summer staple shoe!
Outfit Highlight: I really don’t have a highlight for this outfit, but what I do have is the “candy” accessory. I stated above how much I love Easter candy and it is true. For the last couple of years, I give up sweets for Lent. I have the biggest sweet tooth and since Lent is about sacrifice, what better way to show my love for Christ than to sacrifice sweets. This is the third year that I have actually made it to Easter Sunday! I usually stockpile candy and begin eating on midnight. Then, I have had enough, so by Monday, I am over it!
My favorites are the Cadbury eggs!!! Did you know that in England at McDonald’s there is a Cadbury egg flurry??? Why is it not here?? I also love the chocolate eggs with the candy coating. The Reese’s eggs are so classic and I don’t know why, but they are just better than a peanut butter cup! I love Starburst, Jolly Rancher and Nerds jellybeans, they have such different flavors. A couple of classics are the coconut nest and the chocolate covered marshmallows!! I am sure I left some out, but these are the tops!
Aside from the candy, let’s remember the reason for Easter. It is the time of Christ’s resurrection. He died for our sins and rose after three days. What a gift for us to live by!! Let’s all reflect on our years and the days leading up to this day. It can be hard, but hopefully just like the resurrection, there is going to be a resurrection in our lives, in our dreams!
So enjoy the Easter candy, but remember the real reason for this day. What is your favorite Easter candy????
