Let’s Start the Closet Cleanout Challenge

I have nothing to wear!!! I say this to myself so many times!!!! Yes, my closet is at full capacity and I have more clothes than most families, but I still hear myself saying these little words so many times, “I have nothing to wear!!!!”

Another thing I hate is that I always seem to wear the same items over and over again. So instead of wearing all of these different clothes I own, I stick to the same ones. I can blame gaining weight, I can blame losing weight, I can blame so many different things, but the truth is, I just don’t wear half of my closet. I don’t feel comfortable in these items and so I stick to wearing the things that make me feel good, make me feel comfortable.

I love the internet and I love looking at other bloggers or influencers, but let’s face it, most of the clothes don’t look the same on me. Many of the other girls I follow are not a day over 30, size 2, possibly 4 and are around 6 feet tall. Here I am a middle-aged, could stand to lose a few, average height woman trying to wear these items that these girls are showing. 9 times out of ten, they don’t look the same. Not to mention, they can also look down right horrid on my body!!!

What happens to these items? Well, I order off the internet a lot, so rather than send the items back, I usually keep them. I keep them in the hopes that a weight loss will make them fit better or that maybe I will grow a few inches, I don’t know, but I keep them. And in my closet they sit.

So, now I have a closet full of clothes, many of which just do not look good on me. I am that person that has clothes with the tags still on them. I have the outfits I have worn once, maybe twice and then I just do not like the way they look or something else about them.

With all of this being said, I have created a closet challenge. This will go over six weeks. During this six weeks, you will look at what you wear and don’t wear. We will evaluate the styles we wear most and why we don’t keep buying those to add to our closets versus getting things that just don’t work. We will go through our closets together. I will go over each worksheet with you after I have done mine and I will record the organization and clean out as I perform it.

Join me in this closet clean out. Let’s learn to shop smarter and buy things we will actually wear and wear plenty. Let’s be smart about what we do add to our wardrobe when we go shopping. Let’s quit buying things only to feel bad in them or for them just to end up hanging in our closets.

The first step in this challenge is to download the following worksheet. In this worksheet, you will document what you wear for two weeks. After two weeks, I will come back and go over my results with you and we will take these results and begin to use them to clean out our closets and learn to shop better!!!

Click on the following link and it will take you to the two weeks documentation worksheets. You just print them off and track your outfits for two weeks! I will be doing the same and I will be back in two weeks to share my results with you!!! I am so excited to get started!!! How about you????
