I am that person that has to color their hair. I do have a small amount of gray that looks a little like tinsel in my hair and since my hair is dark, I like to cover it. This means I either go to the salon or do it myself. The negative with doing it myself is that sometimes the at home colors just do not give the shine that is given by that done at the salon. I have tried and tried many products, and still never get that shine.

So, I headed to Wal-Mart to check out the color selection and see what I could come up with. I looked at all of the brands, when I saw one I had never seen before. It was Schwarzkopf Keratin Color and I picked up the box to read about the product. This product promised 80% less breakage. This was something that I wanted because I know that coloring your hair can dry it out. My hair is already super dry, so I did not need any help in that department. This product has K-BOND PLEX which is a salon-inspired technology that repairs the inner structure for strong and healthy looking hair. I also noticed that the color intensity was extra-long. This is also important because nothing is worse than getting your hair colored and that color fading almost the next day. I was excited! I looked at the colors and thought Cappuccino was closest to my color, so I picked it up and headed to the check out.

When I got home I got everything together to color my hair. I read through the directions, which were pretty much like all of the others, except it had a serum to put on the ends of the hair. This was to condition the hair, especially the ends, which can see the most breakage. After I applied that, I then mixed my color and applied. It went on smooth and even and now it was time to let it process.

After the processing was complete, I rinsed my hair completely and applied the conditioner. I left it on for a couple of minutes and proceeded to rinse that also. When I was done and my hair was styled, I immediately felt the results. My hair was soft and luxurious. It even had a shine to it that was missing before. I was excited! Could this be a solution to going to the salon so much??

Later that day, I was looking through my closet for something to wear to a spring party. I saw this one shoulder pink dress and knew it would be perfect. I could only imagine how great my dark hair would look against this pink dress. I then began to think how my hair color would look even better with a hair decoration in it. I started to think about what I would like and I remembered seeing a little girl on Easter Sunday with a floral wreath. I felt a little too old for the floral wreath, but not for a floral hair decoration. That is when my wheels began to spin and I headed to the local craft store.

While at the store, I decided that a floral comb was perfect. I bought some muslin, flowers and glue for my hot glue gun. I knew I already had a comb at my house, so no need to purchase that. I then got home and began the process.

The first thing I did was cut a piece of muslin the length and width of the top of the comb. I then glued it on.

I then got the flowers and started to arrange them in a way that I wanted. When I found the style that suited me best, I began to glue them on.

After I was done gluing, I was ready! When I saw the finished product, I just knew that this was exactly the look I was going for and that it would be perfect with my dark hair and my pink dress.

So, you see, I found satisfaction with this hair dye. I feel that my hair never looked better. It is healthy and shiny and the color has not faded one bit, even a week later!
