Winter Capsule Wardrobe
As the new year begins and the holiday decor begins to come down, people will begin to clean out their closets. They will toss and toss and use different methods to be sure that their wardrobe is exactly what they want and hopefully what they wear most. And let’s add-in, keep the things that spark joy, which in my case is my whole closet! There are times when just a few pieces of clothing can be kept and coordinated to create quite a few outfits. This can be considered a capsule wardrobe and can save you time, money and space in your closet!
When we think of a capsule wardrobe, most might not even have a clue as to what I am talking about. We are definitely a society of fast fashion and wanting to line our closets up with the latest trends. However, if you have a capsule wardrobe, that can help you to shop smarter. You can pick items that are trendy, but can still fit into this capsule wardrobe. The capsule wardrobe is simply a few pieces that can be mixed and matched to create quite a few outfits, like my Spanx leggings that I just love. They are typically neutral in color and therefore, can make the task of outfit coordination that much easier.
I have posted a winter capsule wardrobe above. These are the items I will wear a great deal during winter and with that being said, I can mix and match them to create quite a few outfits. I picked these neutral colors, but other colors can also be used. If you have anything similar in your wardrobe when you are cleaning out your closets, set it aside and see just how you can mix and match to create different looks. I know that is not everyone’s strong suit, so I have created a few to get you started in the picture below.
These are not all of the different ways you can create outfits. There are many more, but this is something to get you started. So, if you are doing your yearly closet cleanout and purge, be sure to set aside pieces that might be good for your winter capsule wardrobe. Put them in a section in your closet so that you know what you have and when you are ready to head out and shop, you can pick pieces that better fit into your wardrobe.
Let me know what pieces you like best and if you have any ideas for other items to add!
Later!
Kara
