Top 5 Work From Home Career Fields

When people start looking for work from home jobs, they don’t really know where to start. They know what they have done in the past and what they are qualified to do, but sometimes it is hard to find work from home jobs with those exact titles. However, there are numerous different work from home jobs out there that most people can do with the training they have or get some training and pursue them! Here are a few of the work from home careers I have seen advertised and some advice on how to pursue them!

1 – Teaching – If you are a teacher and tired of working in the classroom, this a work from home career in teaching is for you. For almost all of the jobs at the K12 level, you need an active teaching certificate. You can teach at the K12 level, tutor and even the postsecondary level if you have at least a Master’s degree.

2 – Medical Billing and Coding – There is a huge demand in the career of medical billing and coding for working from home! Whether you do the billing or coding or both, you can find jobs in this area abundantly. You do need to be certified with many of the major work from home companies and you might need some education in order to get that. Here is an article about how to get started in this field.

3 – Virtual Assistant – If you have some great administrative skills, this is for you. You can do so much in this area and the jobs are plenty! You don’t even need the training to pursue this career field from home. You just need to have the skills and be willing to put the work in!

4 – Customer Service – Like to talk to people? This is your job. Some are strictly on the phone, while others are email only. Then there is a combination of both. There are also chat jobs, you know when you go to a website and someone pops up to talk to you? Chat jobs are more flexible and a great career to work from home in, especially if you just want a side hustle.

5 – Writing – Love to write and craft your thoughts??? Writing is everywhere! Lots of places are looking for freelance writers in a variety of subjects. Don’t forget to get some samples for a portfolio. Once you have some great samples, you are then ready to start pursuing a work from home career in writing.
