Protein Balls that Taste just Like a Candy Bar!!!
Have you ever had one of those days? You know, where you forget to eat??? I know it can be hard to imagine, but since I mostly work from home, I do forget to eat at times. I just get so wrapped up in project after project and forget to eat. This can be tough when I am going to work out because I need my energy. These little protein balls are so yummy and I can pop one or two in my mouth before a workout and be ready to go. The good thing about these is that they are not too much. I just cannot eat before a workout or I get sick and that is not the case with these. They are just enough to give you energy to get through the workout without fainting! They are also super when you have not eaten and feel a little weak. You just pop one in and they can hold you and stave off your hunger so that you don’t turn into a Hoover vacuum in front of your refrigerator or keep you from completely stuffing your face at dinner!! The best thing about these is that they taste like a candy bar. My friend Lisa makes these for her Health and Wellness parties and I could literally stand in front of the plate and devour each and every one. Not good when watching your weight!! But, like I said perfect for a pre- or even post- workout snack or just something to pop into your mouth to ward off those hunger pangs. Below is the recipe that is so easy anyone can do it:
Ingredients:
2 C Rice Krispies or an Organic Rice Cereal
1 C Natural Peanut Butter
1 C Honey
1 C Chocolate Complete Protein
Basically, this is how easy this is. Pour them all in a bowl and mix well. It is best to put on some latex gloves, but clean, bare hands work also. Form them into balls. I usually get my melon baller to ball them out, that helps them to not get so big!
You can put them on a plate and then in the refrigerator. Also, they can be frozen and you can take a few out at a time just to have and to keep you from eating the whole plate.
I am eager to hear what you all think!!! If you need help with any of the ingredients, please let me know. If you have any fun additions you want to add, do it!! Just know that the caloric content can change. These would be yummy with dark chocolate chips or some coconut. The sky is the limit. What are some other things you think can be added???
Good ideas!! Thx for sharing!
