How to Find the Perfect Statement Earring

When it comes to finding statement earrings, it can be overwhelming. I mean, they are everywhere!!! I love them, but I am a total product of the 80’s, where bigger was better in every sense of the word! I love to find statement pieces of jewelry to add to my wardrobe. It has almost become an addiction. When I used to have a bad or stressful day, I thought a tube of lipstick was a perfect reward, but now, I add some fun earrings to my life!!!

I love that you can add so much to any outfit with the perfect statement earring. They can bring so much to any outfit, even the simplest of outfits!!! I even like to wear them to dress up my casual workout wear when I decide to dress down when working from home!!

It can be hard when trying to find the perfect statement earring. Here are a few tips to help you as you shop:

1 – Watch the weight of the earrings. Most statement earrings are not that heavy, however, there are some that could be a little heavy on the earlobe! When I was growing up in the 80’s, I don’t think they knew what light earrings were!! They were so heavy and they really dragged down the earlobes. So be sure to watch the weight when you pick out a pair and be sure that they are not going to be too heavy for you!

2 – Style – there are so many different and fun styles of statement earrings out there right now. Everyone has their preference in what they like and don’t like. There are those that love a fun, more eye catching earring, while there are others who might like the larger size, but keep the style and color more simple. I think it is a personal preference. I have a mix of both. I like the larger, simpler ones to wear more like everyday and the flashier ones I wear for more special occasions. I honestly think you should buy what you love and what you think you will wear.

3 – Size – some people like really large statement earrings, others like them big, but not too big. You want to watch the size and not get some that overtake your face. Yes, these are called statement earrings, however, they are to make a statement not take away from your outfit. I like large earrings, but I rarely get those that hang down to my shoulder and invade my face! It is not very hypoallergenic to try on earrings, but hold them up to your face and try to get the best opinion possible as to what size is good for you.

Like I have stated before, I love statement earrings. I have added so many to my style lately and honestly, I don’t see them leaving any time soon. I like to frequent the ones in town to find some of the cutest and most stylish ones, at a more affordable price.
