Different Work from Home Jobs for Teachers
I know what it is like to be a teacher and not love my job. The burnout, the students who don’t think the rules apply to them, and the parents that also believe that. Don’t even get me started about all of the interruptions and preparing for the standardized tests. I felt like I was in prison and I was ready to find something else. So when I discovered teaching as a work-from-home job and career, I pursued it and was so ecstatic. I finally found what I love!
I know I am not alone in thinking this. I know there are other teachers out there who for one reason or another, are so over being in the classroom. The good news is, there are many jobs that can be done from home for teachers. There are more and more online schools opening up, online tutoring, and even curriculum development. If you are a teacher and you are so over teaching, here are some things you can look into.
Amplify – K-12 specialists are always needed. You are hired as an independent contractor, so keep that in mind.
Bundle – Hires teachers in a wide variety of subjects, such as cooking, yoga, etc. This is also an independent contractor position.
Course Hero – This is an online tutor company. You have to have a teaching certificate and teaching experience in the area in which you teach. You can set your own schedule here.
Edmentum – Hires both full and part-time teachers for various positions. Must have experience and teaching certificate in subjects desired to teach.
Imagine Learning – Hires K-12 instructors. Must have at least three years of teaching experience and be certified in the state in which you teach.
Pearson – Has many different teaching opportunities. In addition to teachers, test scorers and curriculum developers are also needed, as well as tutors.
Skooli – Hires tutors in all different subjects. Must have a Bachelor’s degree and certification.
Stride – This is another K12 organization with many different opportunities for teaching.
Study Pool – Online tutoring is offered here. You can work as many hours as you want and create your own schedule.
Tutor.com – Offers tutoring services in all different subjects. You have to fill out an application and pass an extensive background screening.
Varsity Tutors – Work on your own schedule tutoring and become an independent contractor.
In addition to these jobs, there are more. If you want to teach at the college level, almost every college has online teaching, so you can start a google search there for whatever subject you are qualified to teach. Don’t forget about tutoring people from a foreign country to learn English. There are various positions in this area. Indeed also offers a great deal of these job openings.
