At Home Spa Day or Night
Everything is closed and now, you are starting to look and feel rough! Your face looks pale and congested, your fingernails are anything but polished and your feet, well, let’s just say, they need to remain in their shoes! This is starting to take a toll on you and your morale, so you need to take matters into your own hands. You need to have an at-home spa day or night. I have been doing them myself for a long time and have decided to amp it up during this time in an effort to feel better while under isolation. Here are some of the items I use and the tips I have.
The first thing I do is wash my face with Noxzema. I love how clean it gets my face, which sets it up perfectly for the next step, dermaplaning or microdermabrasion. These tools are great to get off that top layer of dead and dull skin. I only use them once a month and alternate months between using each one. I have felt it is too harsh on my skin to use either one more frequently and once a month is perfect for me. After I do whichever tool I have chosen, I then like to do a mask. My favorite mask to use is a mud mask. These are just the best, they get into your pores, especially after you have done dermaplane or microdermabrasion, and get all that junk out!
After I have done the mask, I like to use these lip and under-eye pads. These are perfect to provide extra moisture to those two areas that can get dried out and need the extra moisture to boost their youthfulness. The final step in my facial is that I do the resurfacing peel. I have loved using this and my skin is sensitive, so I only do them once a week. The ones I have stated that they can be done more frequently, but with my skin if I can do one once a week, it works out great!
Next, let’s do the hands and feet. I am going to start with the feet and do the hands in between. The first thing I do is take off any polish I have on. Next, I get a buffer and rub it on my nails to get the ugly yellow off and my dead cuticles and then I shape up my nails. This is the start of cleaning up my feet and getting them ready.
I like to do a foot peel and mask. I do the peel once a month and then after my feet have peeled I do the mask to moisturize it. To maintain my baby soft skin on my feet, I get regular coconut oil and rub it on my feet at night and put socks on and sleep in them. When I wake up the next day, my feet are baby soft and look like I just had a pedicure. While my feet are soaking, I then get the buffer and trimmers and head to my fingernails to get those cleaned up.
The very last thing I do is get the nail polish remover and run it over my toenails. That helps to get anything oily off of them. After I do that with the polish remover, I then apply polish, which right now is the nail polish that is in sticker form. I have learned how to apply it to my toes and it lasts forever!!! I will say, that right now I am letting my toenails go back to normal and get healthy, so I am leaving the polish off. If I leave it off for a month or two, my nails get that pearly white and healthy look and I honestly just love how natural they look. I then head to my fingernails, where the last thing I do is apply the nail polish stickers on my fingernails. I like it to be the last thing I do at night so that they last a while. I can get about three weeks out of mine if I do it this way because the polish can sit on my nails all night and adhere to them.
While I know that going and getting this done is so fun and relaxing, there is something about spending your Sunday night in front of your favorite show and doing this yourself. It can take one to two hours, but it is so rewarding when you are done and even more rewarding knowing that you saved yourself some good money!!!
