Velvet Dress for the Holidays
There is cold weather in the air and that is enough to break out the velvet. I just love velvet and this velvet maxi dress is no exception. I love a good maxi dress, however, they can be misleading.
I was having some dizzy spells and I ended up going to the doctor’s office because it seemed to lead to other problems. I hate the doctor, but not for the reasons you think. I hate getting on the scale. I hate to see just how bad it is. I have a scale, yes I do, but it is digital and the batteries died and I have yet to replace them. We are supposed to judge based on how our clothes fit, right?
So, I closed my eyes as I stepped on the scale and I at the wrong time, I saw it. I saw the dreaded number. OMG!!! I want to cry! How did it get so bad?? The number was horrible! I mean, I had tried on a few things and they were snug, but still, I wasn’t that big was I?? Oh yes, I sure am that big. I am bigger than I ever dreamed and I decided it was time to finally get it together.
I had two years of, let’s just say, a lot of bad things happen and unfortunately, I ate my way out of that. Not a good idea. I have tried to diet. You know, eat all weekend and vow to start on Monday. I might hit a pothole on Thursday or Friday on a good week and then the cycle starts all over again.
But seeing that number was the reality I needed. So, I started and even though it is the holiday season, I am determined. I am determined not to start 2021 in this hole of a mess!
So, why are maxi dresses misleading?? Because when I put this on, let me remind you it is a size smaller than I wear, it fit so well and did not cling anywhere. I thought I was doing good, which is why the old how do the clothes fit is just not the way to go!
Later!
