The Perfect Off the Shoulder Dress that Stays on your Shoulders!!!
Dress: Pleione (Similar) | Shoes: Gianni Bini (Similar) | Clutch: Link Here!
I am such a huge fan of off the shoulder dresses, especially in these warmer months. They are just so cool and breezy and I think they are super cute. My biggest issue is that I cannot get them to stay up. They always end up riding up my shoulders, making wearing them a miserable experience.
Last year in Auburn, Alabama, we had a movie premiere. Yes, right here!!! It was so exciting!!! Melissa McCarthy’s movie “Life of the Party” was released and they wanted to pick a college town to have the huge premiere in. I honestly had no idea this was going on until I was on Facebook and saw everyone talking about it. I messaged a friend and said we have to go see her in downtown Auburn taking on some of the college traditions!
So, we decided to head downtown and see what was going on. In case you did not know, the movie is about a mom who decides to attend college with her daughter after her divorce. It was full of fun and cute jokes that would put a smile on your face! Anyway, we got downtown, and so did the rest of the town, and we were able to see her and the rest of the cast pretty up close and personal. It was awesome!!
As we are standing there, the friend I am with sees someone she knows and they start talking. As they are talking, she states that she has free tickets to the premiere and no one in her family wants to go and would we like to go. I was like sure! So after spending the entire afternoon running around campus chasing down stars, we headed home to get ready.
We get to the premiere and it was what I thought, but we did not get to do the red carpet, because they hurried us into the theater. The movie was being shown in all of the theaters there, but only one luck theater had the stars with them and that was us!!! As we are sitting there, one by one, we start to see these familiar faces and then Melissa and her husband come in to talk to us. It was such a fun experience. Then we had the after party and we actually got to talk to a few of the stars. It was really a night to remember.
I said all that to say, this was what I wore. It was a more casual premiere, so this was perfect! I had no time to shop for a new dress, so I came home and scrounged around in my closet and found this and put it together in no time. It was super comfortable and that was when I noticed, it did not ride up off my shoulders. It stayed put pretty much all day long!!! It was perfect for an event like this when you don’t want to be worried about your dress all night.
The bad thing about this dress, it is older so it is not made by this company. Free people, however, has one that is very similar in stock. It only comes in three colors and they are more neutral, but it is a must have to be worn this summer. I have also linked similar styles in the shoes and clutch!
Let me know how you feel about off the shoulder dresses!!!
