I hear all of the time from people who want to work from home. I am lucky in that I got my start before everyone else was working from home. Now I am spoiled and I cannot imagine working outside of the home.
If you are looking for remote employment, you are in luck. The number of remote jobs has risen in the last few years, especially in the last 12 months. You might have a resume that you will use to apply for these jobs. That is great and everything, but let’s be real here, that resume is not going to cut it. There are certain skills that are needed on your resume in order to sell yourself for remote employment. Even if you do not have remote employment experience, these skills can help you to be the perfect candidate for a remote job. Let’s take a look at what some of these skills are:

These are most of the skills needed on your remote resume that will help a company to see that you are the perfect candidate for your remote position. If you have never had a remote position, you need to update your job skills to showcase the above skills. All positions can be reworded in a way that can show you have these skills, you just have to be creative and do your research.
You might have a great deal of experience in a field and that is great, but you want your remote resume not only to showcase that experience but that you have the skills to work remotely. Read over the job posting and look at the skills required, then look over your resume and see where you can insert these into your job skills. If you can do that and also show that you are computer proficient and have good internet, you can make yourself the perfect candidate for any remote job!
