How to Hand Wash your Delicates
I know what some of you are thinking when you read the title. You are thinking, “why do I need to know how to hand wash my delicates???”. We have gotten a little lazy with washing our clothes. I know that I sure have. I used to separate my wash and I had my delicates all by themselves. I would put them in their lingerie bag and wash them with the special wash I bought just for delicate pieces of clothing. When done with the wash I pulled them out of the washer and hung them to air dry. Not so difficult, huh?
As times have gotten crazier, I have not been doing this. I do take the time to wash them on the delicate cycle. However, gone are the days of using a lingerie bag and washing them separately from everything else. They are put in with my favorite tees or something else that needs to be washed in the delicate cycle.
I don’t know why I got away from this, but I did and I wish that I took the time to do it separately. Washing your delicates separately and in detergent that is more gentle helps them to last longer. It helps them to stay in shape and to look almost brand new with every wash.
I was gifted this Forever New washing powder, a stain stick, and fabric freshener, but I am so glad. I grew up using Forever New when my mom had it in her laundry room. I think the pink was caught my eye. So, I used it for the longest and then I honestly don’t know what happened.
Forever New is such a great product. You can get it in unscented, but I must tell you that the original scent smells fresh and clean. I used it on my towels and they came out of the dryer and you could just smell it through the house. I also used it on my sheets and it made me want to crawl under them and just snuggle. The detergent comes in powder or liquid forms, so if you are not crazy about powder, you do have a choice. It is an all-natural, hypoallergenic detergent that is perfect for my sensitive skin.
Along with the detergent, there is a fabric freshener, which is perfect for those items that you don’t wash as often but want to get certain scents out of. Lastly, there is a stain stick, which has been great. I used it on a little accident that happened and was able to get the stain completely out!
I am telling you, these products are perfect to use on your delicates. I just ordered some new lingerie bags and I plan on getting back to washing my delicates as I did in the old days. I need them to last and look fresh and I know that with Forever New, it is a huge possibility!
Do you wash your delicates separately??
Later!
