Can snakeskin print really be classified under animal print?

Animal print is so hot right now and I don’t see it going away any time soon. I have discovered snakeskin print. Now, I am a little confused as to why this is under animal print. I never really thought of a snake as an animal. I always thought of them as poisonous and scary creatures!!!

Now, here is where my fear came from. When I was growing up, I lived in the country. The snakes would come out of hibernation when the weather turned warm. And did I mention, I lived around the corner from a muddy river! So, you could say I lived in the perfect area for snakes.

Growing up, we would see snakes everywhere. Many of them were dead, as they would get run over by cars as they were crossing the road. And these were HUGE snakes!!! Most of them were poisonous also. I would go out to play with my friends and there would be snakes everywhere. My parents used to warn me to watch out for snakes! And I am not talking about guys that are snakes here!!

One day my friend Brandi and I were playing and we ran upon a huge snake that was dead. We thought it would be fun to pick it up with a stick and tease each other with it. What were we thinking? I have no idea! So I picked it up with a stick and acted like I was going to throw it on her and it accidentally landed on her. We were both screaming and then that quickly turned into laughter!!! Those were the days! Now if someone were to throw even a dead snake at me, I would probably faint in terror!!!

So, you can see my confusion as to if a snake is an animal or creature. I know that some people have them as pets, but I can go ahead and tell you, I am just not a snake person. I do not look at them as a pet, in my eyes, they are freaking scary!!!!

But I do like the look of snakeskin. When I saw this top, I knew it would be a great addition to my wardrobe. It fits very true to size, actually a little larger, so you could size down. It all depends on your hip area. I got this from my favorite online boutique, Town and Key. The booties are old, but are from Sole Society and I have linked similar styles. The jeans are my all-time favorite from Loft. I mean to tell you, they top my Spanx leggings at times. They also have them designed for curvy figures. This does not mean anything bad, but hey, some of us have hips and wearing skinny jeans can leave you with a muffin top, even if you are thin. With the curvy fit, they give you some room for your hips, no muffin top here! As far as denim is concerned, these are tops!
