Blue Velvet and Gold Sequins

I absolutely love velvet, as if you did not know, and sequins. Many people think these two are reserved just for the holidays or special occasions, but this is not true. This picture, of course, is a dressier look. But I am going to show more casual ways to wear sequins and velvets, so that you can get plenty of wear out of these items and they can become a closet staple.

The skirt I am showing here is from Dillard’s, Chelsea and Violet brand. I love it and it fits great. Unfortunately, I got this two years ago and they do not have it anymore. There is a possibility that this or one similar to it could be available by the holidays, but for now, I have linked some other great skirts for you to see.

This skirt is Alice + Olivia. This brand can run a little snug, especially in the hips, so you might want to size up.

This skirt is BCBG. This taupe color is really hot in sequins this year. The one thing I have noticed about BCBG is that it typically fits true to size.

 

The skirt above is on Amazon. It is very inexpensive and looks great. It is from overseas, but all of the reviews said it was a great skirt. They did say to upsize for fit.

I love the top also. The one shown is from Loft. Unfortunately, it is from last year, so as of right now, it is not available on their site. I have linked a few other velvet camisoles that are similar.

This top is from H&M. It fits more like a juniors size, so keep that in mind when ordering. It is less than $20, so keep that in mind.

This one is from Tibi. I like it because it is similar to mine. It fits longer also, which I like.

This last one is from a company I like called Joe Fresh. They did collaborate with JC Penney’s at one time, but since JC Penney’s has seen its run of financial problems, we can only guess that is why it is no longer there. It fits very true to size and is very inexpensive.

I found this one on amazon. It states it fits loose. It is from overseas, but I looked at the measurements and they look true to size. There are no reviews yet, so keep that in mind, but the price at less than $4, is too good to pass up!

Last, but not least, is this great bag. I got this at Kohl’s. It is from the Lauren Conrad collection. I love it because it has the chain link, short strap of gold. It has feet on the bottom and is a structured bag. It has some good room inside, but not too much. It is perfect for a night out. I could not find this in my Kohl’s store, but I was able to get it online. It also comes in a deep red!

There are so many different ways to wear each of these pieces. They can be worn separately with different things. I will be posting these different looks in weeks to come.
