How to Perfectly Style the Shirt Dress
A good shirt dress is a necessity in every woman’s wardrobe! Shirt dresses used to not be my style. I found them to be rather stuffy and just not, you know, me. Then one day, I put one on that was so comfy and fit so wonderfully and I just knew I had to re-examine the shirt dress and in adding it to my wardrobe. There are different ways to style it and I wanted to give my input!
- Look at your shoes. Some think that because a shirt dress has a more preppy look, they need to add a classic shoe like a loafer or sneaker. While these are perfectly appropriate, don’t forget to style it up with something with a little more pizazz. Pick a color to add to the dress. For the dress I have on here, I did pick neutral colored sandals, however, think red, think hot pink. They would bring such a different look with that dress.
- Next, we have jewelry! Look at a fun statement earring. Statement earrings are my go-to in changing up the look of an outfit. Earrings not your style? Look at a necklace. There are many statement necklaces that can add to the look of the dress as well.
- Lastly, let’s add a fun bag! This bag is so fun to me and reminds me of the ’70s. Even though it is beaded, it has a macrame feel to it. My mom would be so proud! This beaded bag creates a different look and it goes with my neutral shoes. Let’s say I chose colored shoes, chances are, I would carry a clutch to match them and sport the color.

Anyway, every store I have ever been to has a shirt dress, so be sure to check them out. Then when you get it home, look at the accessories you have and find the perfect way to style it and make it your own!
